About the Trainer
 
Jamil served in the United States Army and Air Force “between” 1990-2009 and has held various positions within the United States Army and Air Force.  During this time he was involved in the Desert Storm campaign and Operation Iraqi Freedom.  He was honorably discharged from active duty in the U.S. Air Force in 2009 with the rank of Staff Sergeant. 

Jamil’s Combat Fitness is designed for those individuals interested in taking control of their lives now!  The program includes Agility Drills, Obstacle Courses, Calisthenics, Free Weights, Circuit Training, Running, Stretching, Martial Arts, Boxing Drills, and other Military Based Exercises. 
 
Combat Fitness is a motivating group fitness program to create the perfect body toning and sculpting workouts with cutting edge and creative styles of fitness guarantee results such as:

Combat Fitness will challenge you with physical activities to increase your cardiovascular endurance and muscular strength, which will help create a leaner healthier you.  All of these areas are improved while you are having fun and creating newfound friends.
 
Combat Fitness  will challenge you to accomplish goals you never thought possible.  Every recruit will be required to pass a fitness evaluation at the end of the four-week session. 
 
Jamil was born and raised in New York City and was compelled to learn various forms of self defense techniques such as Tae Kwando, Kung Fu, and Aikido. 
 
In 1989 he joined the U.S. Army where he became obsessed with exercise and fitness.  When he was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado, he learned Sho Rin Rhu Karate and competed in Amateur Boxing snatching several medals in both skills.    
 
In 1996 Jamil acquired his initial certifications at the YMCA in Bergen County, New Jersey.  He obtained certifications in the principles of YMCA Health, Nutrition, and Strength Training.   He assisted and developed a class for senior citizens called S.M.I.L.E. Seniors Moving in Light Exercise.
 
In 1997 Jamil acquired certification as a Wellness and Nutrition coach at the YMCA in Rappahannock, Virginia.  Jamil trained group fitness classes for several health clubs and facilities as well as for corporate and community centers.
 
In 1999, Jamil was acquired to support a joint program as a sub-contracter with YMCA and Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centers which facilitated his love for weight management and nutritional counseling for clients.
 
In 2006 while deployed in Iraq, Jamil was approached about instructing a fitness class for the Air Force and Army troops.  The class attracted male and females that desired a challenge out of the ordinary mundane "go to the gym and lift routines."  The class grew to a point where the fitness coordinator requested that the class be held two days a week.  
 
In 2007 Jamil obtained my certification as a Body Building Instructor through the IFPA, International Fitness Professionals Association.  In April 2009, Jamil acquired and became a Certified Group Exercise Leader at the renowned Cooper Fitness Institute.
